Sun spots, marks left by acne, melasma: all of them get worse with sun and visible light. An anti-spot active in the evening only works if the morning sun protection is flawless. Visible results in 8 to 12 weeks.
Use a gentle cleanser, possibly with a brightening active. Avoid rubbing: any irritation can itself leave a mark, especially on medium or dark skin.

On clean, dry skin, a few drops over the whole face, focusing on the marked areas. The best-documented actives: thiamidol, niacinamide, azelaic acid, tranexamic acid, alpha-arbutin. One is enough to start.

A moisturiser that also contains an anti-spot active extends the serum's effect through the day. It does not replace sunscreen, even if it shows an SPF.

SPF 50+ applied generously, reapplied every 2 hours outdoors. For melasma, choose a tinted version: its pigments also block visible light, which makes it worse.
